Its huge arches, that support Edinburgh's South Bridge, form a multitude of unique and diverse rooms. From the main vault whose stage is overlooked by a spacious balcony, to vaulted rooms that still contain the remains of buildings that predate the South Bridge itself, this atmospheric venue speaks for itself. The multiple possibilities of the space mean that we can host everything from live music events, club nights, weddings, corporate entertainment, ceilidhs, Burn's suppers, private parties, themed events, theatre.....the list is endless...!

Unique Wedding Venue Edinburgh

The Caves is an exciting, truly unique and atmospheric venue situated deep in the heart of Edinburgh's Old Town. The multiple possibilities of the space mean that we can guarantee that your Wedding will be a truly memorable experience. All aspects of your Big Day are possible, from the ceremony right through to the evening do.In order create that special Big Day for you we have split our weddings into three packages which are dependent on numbers attending.

Smaller more intimate wedding parties for up to 60 day guests and 100 evening guests, are held in the Rowantree. Steeped in history and fabulously cozy this is a great venue for more personal weddings.

Larger weddings of 60 - 110 day guests and up to 450 evening guests are held in the Caves. This unique venue makes up the sub-structure of the 18th Century South Bridge, there is no venue more Edinburgh than the Caves. Or more Scottish than Scottish if you consider there was once so much Whisky stored here that it became known as "Whisky Row". Every room has a story to tell and a special place in Scottish history -from vaults that served as the stables to the French Cavalry who were at one time body guards to the Royal Family, to remains of the houses that pre-date the Bridge itself - with the original terracotta floor tiles still intact! This amazing and fantastically unique venue in edinburgh will wow your guests and is licensed for civil, humanist and religious ceremonies.

To accommodate wedding parties of 110 - 180 day guests both the Rowantree and the Caves are used (they are adjoining so there is no need for guests to brave the Edinburgh weather). Your drinks reception takes place in the Rowantree, with your Wedding Breakfast to follow in the high vaulted rooms of the Caves. Again up to 450 evening guests can be accommodated.
