Ceremonies
A marriage ceremony in the State Apartments of Hopetoun House is a very special experience. The ceremony can be held in either the Garden Parlour or the Red Drawing Room both of which have magnificent views of the fountain on the west lawns and the magnificent parkland beyond. Floral displays can be arranged to compliment the bridal bouquet and with music to suit your taste together with the historical décor, paintings and antiques the setting could not be more romantic.
Complimentary champagne awaits the happy couple whilst they sign the wedding register either in the Small Library or State Dining Room where the surroundings provide a stunning backdrop for photographs. There is also the opportunity to have post-ceremony drinks in the Front Hall for guests before they move to the Adam Ballroom or Adam Stables for the main reception and wedding breakfast.
Ceremonies in the Adam Stables (Licensed for Civil Ceremonies)
The Adam Stables were recently refurbished using the very latest conservation techniques, converting them from the Marquess' stables to an elegant, chic and versatile room. Seating up to 150 guests, the Stables is a beautiful and atmospheric place in which to celebrate wedding vows. A private courtyard provides a beautiful entrance for the wedding party and when the ceremony is over guests can leave via the dramatic colonnade that leads to the imposing facade of the main House. The Adam Stables is licensed for civil ceremonies and is also available for religious services. Music can be organised for you whether it be bagpipes to pipe the bride down the aisle or an elegant string quartet to accompany hymns or play secular music throughout.
Ceremonies in the Tapestry Room (Licensed for Civil Ceremonies)
In the summer months, smaller wedding ceremonies of up to 60 guests with an outdoor drinks reception either on the lawns in front of the main House or in the South Colonnade can be held in the Tapestry Room. This impressive room, hung with Aubusson tapestries is situated within the Ballroom wing and as guests enter they can enjoy the backdrop of the main House.
